I'm starting to understand, ok maybe in a really small way, what Bernstein and Woodward must have felt like when bits and pieces of information started pointing towards some inescapable conclusions.

I just finished eating some lunch when the phone rings. None of your business who it was. It's enough to say it was another guy with more information to support this AVN buying out lukeford.com thing (See story below). And this guy is definitely an inside kinda guy. So he tells me he read the rumor on my site about AVN buying LF.com. Then he tells me it's true, they are. Of course, not directly: A quick DBA was put together to front the sale. Anyway, my new source asks me if I remember about AVN owing Martin Brimmer some money. I'm not sure, maybe, I say. Then he asks if I read on Gene Ross's site that bit about Brimmer buying LF.com. Yeah, I read that. But I don't know if Brimmer's got the capitol to buy it, I say. I don't think he's living that high on the hog up in Vacaville. But what if as way of payback, AVN were to finance the purchase of LF.com with Brimmer as the front guy? Whoa, fucking heavy! Well, that's what's going down, my new confidential source tells me as he hangs up.

AVN TO PURCHASE LUKEFORD.COM?

There's a rumor floating around, and I want to stress that it's all rumor with nothing to substantiate it but the solemn promise of my confidential source that it's true. So I'm not taking this seriously, and probably neither should you, but according to this guy, AVN or someone employed at AVN, is purchasing Luke Ford's old site. Wow! How shit changes, no? Here they were, just a mere year or so ago, bitter rivals, and now, maybe, just maybe, joined together at the cyber-hip. My source would not reveal anything further. He did, however, have in his possession some other facts, which may or may not be true. According to my source, LF.com was originally purchased from Luke Ford for $25,000. Payment was in the form of 5 checks, $5,000 each, each one post-dated the following month from the previous. My source believes that the new sale of LF.com will be for less $$$, but will include other, undisclosed, incentives. Hey, you know me, I don't give a fuck. I'm just sitting here getting a ton of traffic rebounding off of Gene's and Luke's and a few other sites. And it's only my second week on the beat. And a bigger "AND" is I'm doing nothing with this freakin traffic. Why? Because I don't give a fuck. I'm not here for the money. I'm here to have some fun. But let me say this about that: that doesn't mean I can't be bought in case someone wants to buy me...ok? You want to buy my soul? My integrity? My silence? My thunder? Let's talk. But it is going to cost.
