Sometimes I realize I've made a mistake that needs fixing. This is one of those times.

This site ran a poll recently that asked readers what they thought Mike Quasar's chances were of winning the Best Director award at the AVN Awards Show. One of the options in the poll was "Mike Quasar will win." I now realize that was wrong. Why? It offered Mike false hope. And it's simply wrong when you offer false hope to someone as emotionally fragile as Mike Quasar.

Perhaps a better option to have offered would have been something like this: "Mike Quasar's name will not even be mentioned." That option, along with the rest, would have offered Mike no hope whatsoever. And I think that would have been a better way for this site to have handled the poll.

But I do hope Mike looks at the brighter side. There were thousands of people crowded into that awards venue. I'm guessing the vast majority of those people had no idea who Mike Quasar is, or that he was even up for the prestigious award that was ultimately won by both Michael Raven and Rocco Siffredi--two directors who, unlike Mike Quasar, are very nearly household names in the world of porn.

Since Mike's name was never mentioned in the nomination list, few people were even aware that he had lost. Because of this, Mike remains a winner. Ok, maybe not a winner, but certainly not a loser. After all, you can't lose a race that no one knew you were running in, right?

So to Mike Quasar, the staff of simplyjimmyd.com would like to apologize for our part in raising your hopes. And let's hope that next year you won't even be nominated. In this way, you won't run the risk of your name actualy being called out as a nominee, and having everyone know that you did not win.
