 On New Years Day, just under a month ago in case you've lost track of time, I posted some predictions for the coming year. One of which was prediction #5:
"5. More companies will offer deals of shared product ownership with directors and talent using an Evil Angel-style business model, or other profit-sharing deal..."
I love being right. Witness today's news about Lex Steele's deal with Red Light District. (See AVN article, HERE.)
Trust me, Lex won't be the last branded performer or director to work a deal to own their own shit. This is a trend, and it's a trend that's going to put pressure on the fat cats to rethink the way they do business with these people. Hell, maybe I'll even get myself branded someday and will be able to say "us people."
Personally, I think it's about fucking time.
