VCA AND THE BORG

 jimmyd _writes "I'm hearing that the LFP/Borg assimilation of VCA is imminent; just a matter of crossing some "t's" and dotting some "i's." Word is the LFP/Borg will not be assimilating many of VCA's staff, creative and otherwise. I hear some directors there are already talking to other prospective companies.
Assuming the assimilation is actually imminent, here's some free advice from your's truly to any of VCA's creative staff, or any others for that matter: Don't wait till it's a done deal. Begin seeking your fortune elsewhere and begin seeking it now, before the official assimilation takes place. You're in a much better negotiating position now than you will be after VCA is part of the LFP/Borg's cube and you find yourself, and all your many talents, adrift in a chopppy and difficult-to-navigate porn sea.
If you're thinking your so good the Borg couldn't possibly let you go, think again. You're not-- That good, that is... Get real. Get a grip. This is porn. You're not a legend (except in your own mind), You're not an artist. None of your shit routinely sells what you'd like to think it sells. Your name's not a household word, even if it's as festive as a holiday. Porn consumers will not lament your passing. You're a fucking pornographer and nothing more, whether you want to admit that or not, and you're only as good as whatever kind of deal you can construct with someone else.
