AVN Senior Editor Mark Kernes (I think that's his official title) sent an email over to me this P.M. I'm guessing Mark read my bit on Luke Ford and "yellow journalism" and it sparked something Mark wanted to get off his chest.

This website being the kind of equal opportunity forum that it is, I thought I'd share Mark's email with all of you.

Kernes replies: Guess what, Luke: That sort of thing is going to keep happening, though I shall avoid doing so on sets to which you have actually been invited out of respect for the inviter.

But you are SCUM; have been ever since I've known you, when you were skulking around sets, surreptitiously gathering material for your book which attempted to paint the industry as one still run by organized crime figures and full of very unhappy people, neither of which are true. Then you started your website, and I started copying some of your more outrageous and libelous statements, which I eventually used in an article I handed out to several of my friends in the industry, and out of courtesy, I think I even gave you a copy.

Luke wrote: "Many people in the industry hate me for many different reasons. Mark Kernes hates me out of righteousness. He righteously believes in the industry and in his work supporting it and he sees me as a threat to the industry and to free speech in America."

While it's certainly true that I support this industry, that's not the reason you're SCUM, Luke. You're scum because you tell lies about people, print the lies other people tell, and reveal the real names of porn stars so that they can be stalked or held up for ridicule to their non-industry families and friends.

For instance, I quote from your post of 4/21/03, where you quote someone named "Will". I, however, have enough ethics not to reveal information which might harm the performer in question. You wrote: "Anyways, Mimi Miyagi's real last name is D**** from D**** Philippines. Do a search on google and type in V**** D****. (aunt + family)"

So you're still pulling the same crap you've been pulling for years: Causing trouble for people who have never done you any harm; in this case, the good-natured Mimi Miyagi, an actress who's just trying to survive by bringing pleasure to porn viewers, and from what I understand, sometimes on a more personal level as well. But frankly, that's none of MY business, none of YOUR business, and certainly not the business of the Great Unwashed who read your column (and other gossip sites as well) on a regular basis.

I wonder, do your present employers know that your insurance company, in order to avoid a very embasrrassing trial with YOU as the defendant, was forced to pay $150,000 to actress Christi Lake because you published blurry photos of a woman, that you inferred was her, having sex with an animal, and when she denied that and demanded a retraction, you still maintained that it looked like her to you?

I wonder, do the actresses in the business who talk freely to you know that you print things like this, which I have also redacted to avoid repeating your injury:

"I hear that [actress] is addicted to crystal methamphetamine. She weighs about 70 pounds, her bones are poking out through her skin, her eyes are bugging out of her head, her face is sunken in and her skin is hanging off of her. She looks like she has been in a concentration camp. Her boyfriend husband [...] makes crystal and sells it. They have a toddler at home. [Actress] burned down her bedroom a few weeks ago, probably when her crack pipe caught fire."

Or: "Luke says: [Person] and [company] are notorious within the industry for their fancy movement of money in and out of their offshore accounts."

Or: "Luke says: Unlike Tod-Hunter.com and AVN.com and other industry web sites, I have no concerns about the health of the industry. I report and opine and you decide what happens to the industry. I don't care about the porno industry. If law enforcement reads my site, then I feel honored."

Well, I could go on for pages and pages, quoting the horseshit and detritus like this that you've been spewing for years... but writing about it on websites doesn't seem to make a difference, because the people to whom you slink up, seeking comment and/or trash talk, either don't know who you are or have forgotten what SCUM you are — so I'm only too glad to be there, sometimes, to remind them.

You're a Bad Person, Luke Ford, and it doesn't matter what *I* think of the adult industry, whether I love it or hate it or am indifferent to it; you're still a Bad Person, and the people who give you material to print in your column are either stupid or deluded... or both.

Ford wrote: "Kernes believes porn and free expression and personal liberty make the world a better place."

You're damned straight I do, and if your Aussie ass had any idea of the history of America, of its Constitution and what it means, and the people who fought and died to bring it about, maybe you'd toddle off to North Korea or Iran or some other place that values the free expression THAT YOU WANT TO DESTROY as little as you do.

Ford wrote: "Kernes is a whole new genre of hatred."

I don't respect you enough to hate you — but I plan to make damned sure that anyone in my presence who intends, innocently, to talk to you knows what you're about: Someone whose objective is to tear down this industry, put its members out of work, have them reviled in public and see most of them in federal prison.

Fuck off and die, Ford."
