A LESSON IN COMPASSION

 jimmyd _writes "Recently, I wrote an article about the Anna Mills incident. It seems I did so with a distinct lack of compassion, as pointed out by an email I've received.
Mr Mylan writes: "i find the article a bit crass on the anna mills attack...for one thing, there is little defense a person has to being attacked from behind and tossed to the floor on the back of the head, when cranium meets concrete, there is usually a bit of an incoherent moment for the individual.
in retrospect to the whole incident, anna could combat (under normal head on circumstances) with any of these "persons" who assaulted her. and further more, i do believe that not even you or your buddy that you also included in the article would have done any better for yourselves under the given circumstances. and also, nor would you be striving as hard as anna is for a speedy recovery.
as a fellow journalist, i know that we are all entitled to our own opinions(and opinions are all that the printed word is) or just one sided truths, so please respect my opinions as i in turn will respect yours, but do please have a bit more compassion for the industry as a whole and do not attempt to use an individuals misfortune to do some sort of sick and twisted promotion for another's benefit...there are more tasteful ways to publicize than the tactics for which you have chosen.

jimmyd sez: I'm not sure who you journalize for, Mr. Mylan, but out of respect to a fellow journalist, and out of further respect for your opinion that includes respect for my opinion, I've respectfully published your respectful email. In the future, I'll do my best to show more compassion to any porn star whose cranium meets concrete, or who is victimized in a way similar to the way Ms. Mills was victimized. I do sincerely wish Ms. Mills a speedy and complete recovery from her cranial-meeting-concrete injuries. Please feel free to email me whenever you feel I'm being apathetic, unsympathetic, or displaying a general lack of empathy to anyone who has suffered undeserved harm at the hands of others, or whenever I'm displaying a distinct lack of taste in my twisted publicizing tactics.
