Uber geezer Dave Cummings (pictured left having a good time) wrote me the following email this morning:
I suggest that someone knowledgeable and trusted by adult talent folks (I nominate Jimmy D!) set up a "Scumbag" site/page whereby the talent can freely (and, somehow, without fear of slander/libel charges ensuing) list and complain about the folks who pass them bad checks, pressure the girls into a "casting couch" thing, hit on girls relentlessly, stalk the girls, drug and/or rape the girls, short them the full amount of the promised talent fee, demand "favors" for their friends/investors/location-owners/etc, make unreasonable demands, throw fits on sets, have dirty/unsanitary facilities, etc.
Recently, it seems like more and more girls have tales about the above, and other unsavory situations---I wonder what's causing it to happen so much lately? Coincidence, attitudes, new producers, full moons, etc???
How can such info be supplied as "protected/privileged" communications (thus free of slander/libel suits), in a safe place, and where girls can access it to keep themselves from being taken advantage of? If not Jimmy D, how about a separate entity funded by some kind soul(s); or, the Agents, PAW, FSC, AIM, AVN, etc?
Dave, for a sexagenearian meatpuppet, you come up with pretty good ideas sometimes. Personally, I think a place where this kind of bullshit can be publicized might be a pretty good thing. Of course, slander and libel charges are always a concern, not just for the person making the complaint, but for whoever puts it up on their site. Organizations like PAW and FSC and AIM won't touch this stuff for the same reason. Plus they'd be ineffective anyway. The information would never get out there. But maybe there is a way.
Davey boy, I'm thinking the News Groups. Everyone knows of RAME (rec.arts.movies.erotica). Well how about a newsgroup is set up, maybe we call it alt.sex.pornstar.complaints, or something like that? The newsgroup could have a moderator, and here's where I'm thinking Sheriff Dave Cummings, and people would be able to post freely and annonymously without fear of repercussions.
The rub is that some people might abuse it. But then, this is the porn biz, abuse is a daily occurrence.
Anyone else out there have any ideas?????
