According to Pistol Pete, Sineplex's PR guy, Slain Wayne might be joining them to make some smut.
Pistol Pete writes: ...Award winning writer-producer-editor-director Slain Wayne is in talks with Sineplex Entertainment to helm a new Pro-Am series. Slain has been focusing primarily on Sub-Vision Films for the past year, which includes a soon to be released porn arsenal, featuring many first timers. AVN’s spotlight pic New Chicks on the Cock was released last month, which boasts Cameron’s first scene. Slain’s site www.subvisionfilms.com has set a new precedent in the realm of net-based smut, a virtual and volatile cornucopia of depraved carnality. His genre-bending experiments, Sexxxthrills and PornoJackass are already being imitated. (Side-Bar: It’s easy to go with the grain in Porn Valley. But a lack of originality will be Porn Valley’s undoing. We need more innovators and fewer guys trying to get laid!) Since his amicable departure from Kick-Ass Pictures, Slain Wayne has been revolutionizing the way we perceive adult entertainment and may soon make his home @ the Sineplex Offices.
jimmyD sez: Since Pistol Pete took the time to put this press release out, it's probably a 'done deal' that Slain Wayne is joining Sineplex. And although I don't usually print press releases from most companies, I'm making an exception with this one as Slain is a pal of mine. In my opinion, Slain is one of the most creative and talented filmmakers in the business.
I first met Slain 5 or 6 years ago while producing and directing two flicks simultaneously for Sin City: "Nightshift 3: Gothic," and "Lapdance." I hired Slain to shoot some special super 8 mm film I wanted to use in the title sequences. The stuff came out pretty cool, especially after some groovy shit was done to it in telecine. Slain shot a whole bunch of variable speed stuff of girls dancing in this strip club I rented. I later found out that Slain Wayne was a relatively well-known, underground, cult filmmaker. Years later, Slain joined Extreme Associates who may or may not have had a clue as to the talent that sat in their offices.
Check out Slain Wayne's website, SubVisionFilms.com--it's always a hoot.
Oh and by the way, Pistol Pete, I noticed you didn't miss the opportunity to make a little commentary about the jizz biz in your "side bar." Please note that "...a lack of originality," has been a staple of the porn biz for many years and hasn't been its undoing, although theoretically I agree with you.
