THE KERKOVES VS. THE DENISES :: Simply Jimmy D :: Breakin' News or Breakin' Balls: It's all the same to me!

jimmyd _writes "I just read Gene Ross' account of the problems that have developed between the Kerkoves (Bridgette and Skeeter) and the Denises (Nikita and Karl) and I'm fucking mystified.

Although I have no intention of publicly taking sides here, I feel like I want to make a comment or two.

I've known Bridgette almost from the day she came into this business. I've had the pleasure of Bridgette performing in front of my camera many times. She's always been a complete professional and turned in a great scene. Iv'e also known Skeeter for almost the same amount of time. And while Skeeter's never turned in a great scene for me--or any scene at all for that matter--Skeeter has likewise been a complete professional. Sometimes it can be a problem having talent's significant other on a set. Not so with Skeeter--not ever.

All of what I just said I can also say about Nikita and Karl.

Although my relationship with Nikita and Karl has been more on the professional level, my relationship with Skeeter and Bridgette has been on more of a friendship--as well as a professional--level.

Still, I ain't taking sides here.

But when I read Skeeter's comments on Gene's site, comments like, "...anybody who's ever talked to me knows how highly I speak of Bridgette's career and Nikita Denise." and statements like, "...all he's (Metro's Joey Wilson) used to hearing is about how I brag about Bridgette's career to the point that it's annoying," I have to say that's 100% true! In fact, as I think about it, I've never heard Skeeter bad-mouth anyone--except me, and that was to my face, in fact, basically right in my face (but that's a story between me and Skeeter... period). And even when I've been bad-mouthing someone in a private conversation with Skeeter--cuz, you know, I do sometimes badmouth people-- Skeeter has always refused to join in with the bad-mouthing. And that's the fucking truth.

Skeeter told me sometime ago he was going to co-sign on a mortgage to help Nikita and Karl out. I wasn't sure Skeeter was doing the right thing; the right thing for Skeeter that is, but if there's one thing I've learned about Skeeter it's this: In spite of Skeeter's sometimes intimidating, white trash appearance, in spite of Skeeter's constant and annoying shilling for Bridgette and himself (and yes, for Nikita too), in spite of anything you've ever heard about Skeeter Kerkove, I've always known Skeeter to be the kind of guy who wants to do the right thing and tries to do the right thing. Yeah, Skeeter's obsessed with this shit. And Skeeter's fucking driven like a madman when it comes to getting ahead in this biz--trust me, like a fucking madman! But he doesn't get ahead by fucking people over, by lying and cheating and stealing, or by being a fucking scumbag or a prick.

And before any of you start wondering why jimmyD suddenly seems to be sucking Skeeter's cock here, you should know that Skeeter and I don't always agree on shit. In fact, we've had a semi-hostile moment or two in our dealings with each other (as I've already mentioned in this little essay). Also know that I'm talking about Skeeter in a general sense. Skeeter certainly ain't no saint. And he certainly ain't the kind of guy every girl would want to take home to meet Mom. But I'd rather have Skeeter in my corner than many of the people I know in this biz.

You see, I'm not sucking Skeeter's cock here, I'm just being straight-up and telling you the kind of guy I know him to be.

When Skeeter says to Gene Ross, "If I wouldn't have heard it tape recorded on a phone message I wouldn't have believed it myself. Nikita talking all this crap about me- it's just too hard to believe," he's telling exactly how he feels. And I'm sure he feels totally fucking betrayed.

I'll bet you could've knocked Skeeter over with a feather when he first heard this stuff.
