MY TAKE ON DON BENN'S "WORDS OF WISDOM" TO THE WOLF :: Simply Jimmy D :: Breakin' News or Breakin' Balls: It's all the same to me!

jimmyd _writes "I really hate to do this because I might jeopardize my solid relationship with another member of the porn news corps but I feel compelled, nonetheless, to say a few words about Don Benn’s essay regarding Aaron Boe, a.k.a., “The Wolf.”

In Don’s essay, which you can read HERE on Gene Ross’s site, Don says a few things I’m going to call him on.

Don wrote: “Recently (like in the past couple of days) Boe has been accused by members of our industry (performers, writers, and writer/performers) of a variety of charges ranging from simple “bullshitting” to out and out lying and the commission of one of the most cardinal sins of adult entertainment journalism – having sex with a performer (most likely using his position as a journalist to do so).”

JimmyD sez: The Wolf used his position as a journalist to get laid? Don, do we work in the same porn biz? The only journalist in this business who gets laid is Scott Fayner and that's because he has lots of drugs to share. Hell, Don, being a freaking director rarely gets you laid (unless you're willing to lie and bullshit and hand out drugs and extra cash), and directors actually put money in these sex-performer’s hands! What the fuck does a porn journalist have to barter for sex (excluding Fayner's drugs)? A bit of bullshit cyber-publicity? If this kid got laid with a pornstar (without any cash or drugs changing hands) it was because the pornstar wanted to fuck the kid. End of story.

Later on in the article Don writes: “From the “get-go” Boe failed to understand or comprehend that although the adult entertainment industry is fueled by “bullshit” that we are actually a very small town and cloistered society…and that sooner or later (and usually much sooner) bullshit and lies get discovered and the bullshitter / liar gets disgraced…”

JimmyD sez: I don’t want to burst your porn bubble, Don, but a lot of people in this business have sustained some very lucrative careers--and sustained them for a very long fucking time-- built and fueled by “bullshit and lies.”

Don then provides a list of do’s and don’ts for anyone who wants to jump into the exciting world of porn news reporting.

Don writes: “As a public service for all new news-site journalists (and those yet to come) let me offer a few words of wisdom.

1. Be able to back-up your bullshit.

2. Don’t lie…about anything.

3. Treat what you are doing as a business…not as a labor of love or a public service.

4. Seek the advice of seasoned professionals…almost all of us are more than happy to give a newbee a few minutes of our time (as we often learn something ourselves in the process).

5. As far as having sex with porn stars – leave that to the professionals (and of course by that I mean the staff of KSEX Radio (www.ksexradio.com), Top Pro Talent (www.topprotalent.com) and of course Nikki Steele and myself. Sex with porn stars (without a camera and/or microphone) is an abuse of power…and more times than not – just plain stupid.”

JimmyD sez: Don, you’re kidding, right? You’re just fucking with us, right? “Be able to back-up your bullshit?” I wouldn’t have a fucking thing to write about if I had to do that.

“Don’t lie… about anything.”

Don, this business flourishes on lies. Lies are the grease that keeps the machinery of the porn biz lubricated. (And I hated saying that because it almost made me sound like Bill Margold.) Without lies, Don, there’d barely be a porn business. Let’s look at a few of the big, BIG lies routinely used to keep this industry afloat.

#1 Lie: Check’s in the mail (no explanation needed).

#2 Lie: Most box covers (no explanation needed).

#3 Lie: How many pieces out the door for each new release.

#4 Lie: Most reviews coming from most of the organizations who provide reviews.

#5 Lie: The AVN Awards, the XRCO Awards, the FOXE awards, and any other awards this business hands out.

#6 Lie: We're doing this because we're all a bunch of (altruistic)1rst Amendment advocates...

Should I go on? And you want the guys who write bullshit on websites to always write the truth? Nigger, please. This business can't handle the truth. This business doesn't want the truth about it told. This business simply wants the sanitized 'approved' lies to be told. The truth peforms no service for the porn business so quit pretending the truth is what you or anyone else wants from the people who write about it.

I don’t know about the rest of you porn journalists, but I treat simplyjimmyd.com as a labor of fucking love (or maybe a labor of self-hate and loathing, I’m really not sure which). And I sometimes also treat it as a public service. But I never EVER treat it as a fucking business! It wouldn’t be fun for me if I did that and since I don’t make a fucking dime off my website, I’m either doing it for fun, or I’m a fucking moron, or probably both.

Don, don’t take this personally, but the advice half the seasoned professionals in this business might give someone new might land that "newbie" in jail. I’m not saying that goes for you, nor does it go for everyone, but how would some “newbie” know who to listen to and who to run from as fast as their legs can carry them?

“As far as having sex with porn stars – leave that to the professionals.”

Which professionals would that be, Don? The professionals who get paid to fuck? The professionals who get paid to pay the professionals to fuck? The professionals who work the crews that record the images of the professionals getting paid to fuck? Again, I don’t want to burst another bubble, Don, but many of these professionals are having sex with quite a few professional pornstars on a regular basis. So why can’t the professionals who write about the professionals get laid? I think you get my drift here.

Hey Wolfie boy… you want to get laid and some pornstar is willing to make your dick wet… join the club and go for it. You won’t be any different than many of the so-called professionals in this business. You want to lie and bullshit on your site? Go for it if that’s what you want to do, although there may be consequences (but then, no one’s made my life too miserable and I’ve bullshitted and lied plenty enough times). You want to treat your site like a joke rather than a business? Why not? I fucking do. It’s all smoke and mirrors, Wolf. That’s what it’s all about and don’t let anyone tell you different.
