In response to my recent article wherein I questioned why Tommy Byron has not been indicted in the Rob Black/Lizzie Borden case, as well as who might be paying for their defense, Harri writes: "Tom Byron has been harshly and outspokenly critical of the Extreme prosecution on the adultdvdtalk.com forums. (You ought to check that site out - lots of industry people, and a generally high level of dialogue.) Also, it wouldn't make any sense for him to be trying so hard to get his new company going if he was going to play some role in the prosecution; he would have to know that he would be an instant pariah if he did, and his company would go straight down the tubes. As far as who's paying the lawyer bills, I figure Flynt's got to be the only guy with pockets deep enough, and enough of a "fuck you" attititude toward the government."

jimmyD sez: Harri, what's with the "i" instead of a "y" at the end of your name? That is so gay unless you're a Harriet. As far as your analysis of Tom Byron's role, or lack thereof, in the prosecution's case against Black and Borden, I basically agree with you, but not for the reason you state. I do not agree that Byron would automatically be a porn pariah if he helped the prosecution. There are more than a few people in this business who rolled on their fellow pornographers in the past. Those people are still in this business and doing quite well and are not doing so with "pariah" status. I don't know if you're a part of this biz or not, but that statement shows a distinct lack of understanding of the jizz biz. You apparently forget that this is a business built on whores and whoring. Turning "state's evidence" is simply another form of whoring and is tolerated more than you might think.

I do agree that Larry Flynt is the most likely person to be funding Black's and Borden's defense. But again, not for the reason you mentioned. Larry, like most of his peers, does nothing that does not benefit Larry. Like I've already said, everyone's a whore here and doing things that are purely in one's own interest is a very whore-like characteristic. I also believe that Larry is not alone in funding the Black/Borden defense slush-fund. He's probably joined by more than a few of the heads of the porn families.

In other news, Gene Ross and Wankus have announced a merger of sorts. I've sensed this was coming for some time now. Gene's site has been so filled with KSEX news for so long there had to be more to it than simply, "Gene's a big fan." (Please again note my whore statements from above.) Personally, I wish Wankus and Gene all the best in their new endeavor. Lord knows we need more porn news services and delivery systems to get the word out. I predict that Gene will someday be as big a bigshot as Paul Fishbein or he will die trying.

In still other news, I wonder if Steve Banan will ever take an actual position on the alleged rape of his wife, Nicole Moore, at the hands and penis of Ron Jeremy. I have a hunch that my "everyone is a whore in this biz" theory is again at work in this matter. Decisions like this are always difficult. I'm sure most people would be unable to decide whether it's more important to protect one's business enterprises by protecting one's wife's (alleged) rapist, or to protect one's wife. I'm sure you'll all agree that this is the stuff of made-for TV movies. If a Ron Jeremy made-for TV movie ever is produced, Steve Banan's indecision will be a major dramatic moment in the film.
