 Focus on Family, the Christian anti-porn group (actually, they’re ‘anti’ a lot of things--customary for many religious groups), has recently gotten into bed with David "Son of Sam" Berkowitz. It seems that Berkowitz, the infamous convicted serial murderer, has found religion.
The Denver Post reports: “…since Berkowitz discovered Jesus 30 years too late, you now have the unique opportunity to buy an interview with the murderer through Colorado Spring-based Focus on the Family. In it he describes his conversion to Christianity and extraordinary story of redemption - all for a reasonable, suggested donation of $9 a CD.”
Hmmm… nine bucks a CD—that’s about the average wholesale cost of your average (new release) porn title.
Here’s a (Denver Post) quote from Dr. Bill Maier, vice president and psychologist-in-residence at Focus on the Family: "Our sole intent of these broadcasts was to demonstrate that no one, not even a person who has committed the most despicable evil acts in the past, is beyond the redemptive power of Jesus Christ."
I guess that’s good news for some pornographers, assuming Jesus is somewhere in their futures.
