The Tera Mystique

A week ago or so, I was hired for a gig that I really and thoroughly enjoyed: Shooting stills for Tera Patrick’s company, TeraVision. That meant photographing a couple of Vivid contract girls (Stefani Morgan and Tiffany Taylor) AND shooting the Goddess of Glam herself, Tera Patrick.

For me, it was my first time shooting Tera. In fact, it was the first time we’d been introduced. I landed this plum assignment when Tera, and her husband/partner Evan Seinfeld ,saw some of my work from Nautica Thorn Productions’ first flick, “Nautica Thorn’s All Access.”

“Who shot these?” TeraVision’s principals asked.

“JimmyD.”

“Book him for our show.”

Okay, that’s probably a very condensed version of the conversation plus I heard it second-hand, but that’s basically how it was told to me. So that’s all I’m gonna say about it. I think that’s quite enough shameless self-promotion and jerking off my own ego for one simplyjimmyd post. Instead, let me tell you about Tera.

I’ve thought about this and there’s one word that keeps coming to mind to describe Tera’s physical presence: Majestic.

That’s right, majestic, as in possessing majesty, stately, magnificent, and regal. Plus, she’s simply HOT!
She’s one of the very few women in adult I would say that about — not the hot part, the majestic part — and I don’t know who else I’d categorize this way? (At least, of those I’ve met and photographed or videotaped or both.) That’s not to say there aren’t other chicks in this biz who have incredible looks and personnas and charisma and are very special in some very unique ways, I just wouldn’t categorize them as being “majestic.”

Tera’s also sweet and friendly and totally professional. When it comes to getting in front of the camera, she knows exactly what she’s doing and how best to “play” to the camera. While shooting her, I felt like my job was little more than pressing my finger on the shutter release. So little direction is needed when the model busts one perfect pose after another and drills the lens with sultry expression after sultry expression.

All I can say is shooting Tera is a photographer’s joy ride!
